Jonah Hex Movie Update

Jonah Hex Movie Blogsite
I want so badly for this to be good! But I have serious doubts about it, for starters Megan Fox? I mean she's good looking but she could ruin it for me, and secondly just look at this movie poster! Doesn't look like a western looks more like a GI Joe film font to me.

New Logo

I hope you like the new logo I've designed. I'm working on creating the new site for Bone Orachard, so far its looking pretty sweet, but I'm still learning how to create databases for my websites and learning how to use Dreamweaver more effectively and proficiently so it may be sooner than later, but it will most definitely be here sometime.

Also, I just finished the first season of Dead Wood tonight and I will be replacing the next blog with a review of that instead of the usual movie review, so it is going to take me a bit longer to finish it bare with me please. But, if you need a western besides that to watch this week I suggest watching "The Unforgiven" with Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman. It is fantastic if I do say so myself.

Check Out This Awesome Picture of Batman In Joker, it has a bit of a twist to it though so look a little closer.

They Call Me Trinity (1970)

Here's The Trailer: They Call Me Trinity
(This Trailer Contains A lot of Footage So If You Don't Want To Spoil it for yourself you might not want to watch it)

They Call Me Trinity is a spaghetti western directed by Enzo Barboni. If you click the link on his name it will take you to an IMDB page that has a list of the movies he's directed. He is one of the legendary spaghetti western directors. That page has quite a few movies I've never watched before I just so happened to see this one when I was younger because my dad bought it from Wal-Mart one night. Oh and if you don't know why they're called spaghetti westerns its basically because they were made over in Italy. Another example of a spaghetti western is "The Good The Bad And The Ugly", that's the most well know one.

Spaghetti westerns usually tend to have a lot of humor, goofy sounds for things (you'll see if you watch one of them), mono type audio, and a gritty movie look to them. And this one follows all of those traditions. You wont be able to stop laughing while you watch this movie, its more comedic than it is serious. Some of the things that Trinity is able to do with his gun are just absolutely ridiculous. Another funny thing you will notice about this one is the fact that it was made in the 70's, the theme song in the trailer above should give that away with it's hippie sound. Also something you are going to want to know is that the Trinity movies are a Trilogy. "They Call Me Trinity", is the first one, the second is "Trinity is Still My Name", and the third is "You Call Me Trinity, They Call Me Renegade". Those are the English titles for them at least they go by many different names depending on your nationality and location.

Basically the movie starts off with Trinity (played by Terence Hill) sleeping on a tattered wooden mat like thing that is being drug behind a horse. The horse comes to a stop and Trinity wakes up and puts his boots on. He goes into the little restaurant or bar whichever you prefer and sits down. He notices a couple men sitting at a table who are more or less the only other people there eating. They have a hostage who is wounded, they are bounty hunters taking him to jail. Trinity eats his meal and then walks over to the table and tells the wounded prisoner to get up and come on. Well the two gentleman don't take too kindly to that and so they say who do you think you are!? So he tells them and they take on the look of perplexity and shock. "Bounty Hunter: Hey, Trinity. They say you got the fastest gun around. Trinity: Is that what they say? Bounty Hunter: Yeah. Trinity: [chuckles] Geez...". And as he's walking outside towards his horse they try to shoot him in the back and well you know what happens next don't you? So he leaves and goes to this other town, that is a more typical western type town. He comes to find his brother there, his name is Bambino (played by Bud Spencer). Bambino is currently the town sheriff, but only because he needed a good disguise to take on after killing the man who was supposed to be the next towns sheriff by mistakenly thinking he was being followed. In actuality he is a horse thief and he is waiting on the rest of his crew to show up. But there is a problem the Major (played by Farely Granger) want's to get rid of the sherriff and the Bambino want's the horses that the Major owns for his own. The story ensues with lots more humor and action which we all love.

I give this western a 5 out of 5. Because anyone can enjoy it even stupid teenage girls who have no respect for the western genre.

Dead Man (1995)

Here's a link to the trailer: Dead Man Trailer

Hello Again, sorry about the belated western review. I have been rather busy the past few weekends and so I am only just now getting this new review to you and yours for your viewing pleasure.

This western is one in its own, I can't really place it in the classic western field and I can't put it in the spaghetti western genre either. It's really quite an original piece, and is very artistic and interesting.

William Blake (played by Johnny Depp) is an accountant heading for his new job in the town of Machine. He arrives at his destination to meet with his new employer John Dickinson, (played by Robert Mitchum) when he discovers that John Dickinson has already hired a new accountant and has no further use for Mr. Blake. To not give away too many details to this movie, William becomes wanted for murder and Mr. Dickinson hires a few gunman to track him down. Now William Blake is running and is wounded comes too while an native named Nobody, (played by Gary Farmer) is trying to take the bullet out of him with his knife, which for William is not too comfortable. These two become good friends along the journey that unfolds within this movie. The dialogue between the two of them is very interesting and at times funny. You soon learn to love Nobody as well as think less that William Blake is a cowardly city slicker and more of an outlaw as the story progresses further. And I will leave the rest of the plot telling to the movie itself.

Now this isn't your typical western to say the least, and if you know any of Johnny Depp's work you should have already wagered on that. You can feel its a Johnny Depp movie. It's dark, yet even so you still get that western movie feel so if you don't really like the whole Johnny Depp classic you should still enjoy this film for the simple fact that it is a western. Also this flick is not your everyday shoot em' up, run out guns a' blazin' western either, its more realistic. For example you see how savage the wild west is to someone who is not accustomed to it like a whore giving oral pleasures to a man in an alley. Yes, this movie does have some rather questionable content, but it is spread out and is not the majority of the film so it is easily ignorable. But basically to like this movie you have to have either one or both of these two characteristics, either you like Johnny Depp movies, or you like westerns. If you like neither of these fine things, you'll more than likely hate this movie all together, and not to mention it's in black and white so that would be even more of a turn off to those foolish western hating heathens.

Another essentially good thing about Dead Man is that the music is performed by none other than Neil Young. So expect to enjoy the sounds you hear along the course of the show. Its a very artsy type of film and you should be able to appreciate that considering most westerns have nothing to do with art. For example one of my favorite lines in this movie is; "That weapon will replace your tongue. You will learn to speak through it. And your poetry will now be written with blood. " Now isn't that just brutal and artistic all at once? I think so! There is also a lot of symbolism in this movie if you look for it. "This movie is not the best ever made, but it doe's have a powerful meaning as it looks into the hell that Native American's were put through. Depp is a messenger. I saw the film six months ago and felt that Depp's performance was superb. I felt that there was a powerful symbolism in the film related to our concepts of life, death, and dying."(Author: jeffreytaos from Republic of Korea, Sourced from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112817/).

Another pro for this movie is that it has a lot of very good actors in it that you may recognize from other movies, they don't all play significant roles but they are all noticeable.

Well anyways, to conclude this review I shall say this; This movie is awesomely artistic and well thought through. The plot is very original and so is the cast. It's a great western and a great Johnny Depp film!

The con's, well if you don't like Johnny Depp or westerns you'll more than likely hate it. It is dark and some people don't like realistic and cynical type westerns and prefer more uplifting ones such as flicks by John Wayne.

I give it a 4/5, I'd love to give it a 5/5 but I have to be fair because it's not a must see western. But it comes highly recommended by me, to all of my friends and to anyone interested in seeing an original newer western.
